Acropolis, East Slope

Caption:
Rock-cut bedding for a stele on the spur northeast of the East Cave. The rock has been cut to form a straight, flat back against which probably stood an inscribed stone slab (now missing). There are additional cuttings on the ledge below to help anchor the stele in place. This cutting was discovered by O. Broneer in 1939. NOTE: This is NOT the bedding for the "True Aglaureion" inscription.
