The Kerameikos. Tomb of the Lakedaimonians (403 B.C.). The Lakedaimonians (that is, the Spartans) sent troops to help fight against the radical democrats led by Thrasyboulos. In 403 B.C. they fought a battle in the Piraeus, and there were heavy causualties on both sides. Later, the Lakedaimonian officers were buried at state expense here along the Dromos. View from the northeast.
