The Pnyx. The rock-cut scarp on the eastern side of the Bema of Pnyx III (4th century B.C.). In the foreground you can still see see traces of the ancient quarrying process that was used to create the scarp. The stone quarried here was also used in the construction of the massive terrace wall on the north. This photo is 1 of 4 in a panorama moving south to north (left to right).
