The Roman Agora (Market of Caesar and Augustus). This large open square became the main market of Athens in the Roman period, taking over many of the commercila functions from the Greek Agora. The square was a large court surrounded by colonnades on all four sides. The northern half of the square is still unexcavated. View from the southwest.
