Commentary (prosopographical/historical)

Structuring comments on the epigraphic text (tei:div type="commentary")

Generally this is prose commentary, although it may have XML structure in some cases. Historical, prosopographical, and other scholarly comments on the text, its context or implications, dating, etc. May also include references to bibliography.

Cf. "physical commentary" which belongs in a div with @type='description'—the @type of the div in EpiDoc does not prejudice the name or label an editor chooses to give to this division of the edition.
