The modern history of an epigraphic text (tei:div type="history")

Indicates the modern history of the inscription. In InsAph divisions of this type are used to enclose locations (findspot, original, last recorded), the history of the discovery and recording of this object (as distinct from publication, which belongs in the bibliography—a distinction not made by most projects), and the sources for the current edition.

The history division may also contain detailed markup of location information (findspot keywords), and inventory or accession numbers.
