<p n="regexerror">for divset 1: editionitemcount != typographicitemcount</p><p>It is likely that an epigraphic or papyrological project will need to
maintain a database or authority list containing onomastic or basic
prosopographical data on persons named in the corpus. In addition to the
tags and attributes suggested below, therefore, the individual names
might be linked to the <att>key</att>s or <att>id</att>s in this controlled list.</p><p>As a minimum, personal names should be tagged with the
<tag>persName</tag> tag, as demonstrated below. In addition, the
attributes <att>reg</att> and <att>key</att> may be used to offer normalised spelling and
link to a database/authority list, respectively.</p><p>There exist various prosopographical databases and onomastic lists that may
provide keys for personal names in inscriptions. For more information see the section/appendix
on authority lists and controlled vocabularies. The controlled vocabulary being used should be
indicated either in the header (<note>which section?</note>) or using an <note>as yet
undertermined</note> new attribute on <tag>persName</tag>.</p><p>If a person's name is further tagged (optionally) with individual names identified as well as the whole naming formula (see example 3 below), then the <att>key</att> on <tag>persName</tag> may be used to point to a prosopographical table, while the <att>key</att> on <tag>name type="x"</tag> may point to an onomastic table/authority list.</p><div id="namesandpersons-typographic" type="gl-typographic">
