- The general case of unresolved characters is handled by the use of the <orig> element with the n attribute containing "unresolved". For more particular cases, such as the Latin V identified by Dohnicht as ambiguously vocalic or consonantal, the attribute may be further specified with the addition of "_vocality", vel sim.
