  1. The first example indicates the certain loss of exactly 3 characters.
  2. The second example indicates the certain loss of exactly 10 characters.
  3. The third example indicates the certain loss of approximately 10 characters.
  4. The fourth example indicates the certain loss of 4.2cm of text.
  5. The fifth example indicates the certain loss of exactly 2 characters.
  6. The sixth example indicates the certain loss of between 22 and 28 characters. If the extentmax attribute is used (for the maximum value of the extent range), then the extent is taken to indicate the minimum value of this range.
  7. The seventh example indicates the certain loss of between 1 and 3 characters (constituting a praenomen).
