The present entry seems to assert an etymological connection between
ἀγαθός ('good') and these other words. The others are apparently interrelated:
ἄγημι seems to be an active version of the attested
ἄγαμαι ('wonder at, admire'), and
ἀγαστός means 'admired'. All are connected with the prefix
ἀγα- . The derivation of
ἀγαθός from the same prefix is not accepted nowadays, but scholars do not agree on any other derivation either.
