A purple cloak. Since the rose [is] purple, Aristophanes introduced the halourgis for a wreath of roses.
But ἁλουργής ["sea-wrought"] [sc. is an adjective describing] clothing, [genitive] ἁλουργοῦς , [dative] ἁλουργεῖ .

Ἁλουργίς: πορφυρᾶ χλανίς. ἐπειδὴ δὲ τὸ ῥόδον πορφυροῦν, τῷ στεφάνῳ τῶν ῥόδων τὴν ἁλουργίδα ἐπήγαγεν Ἀριστοφάνης. Ἁλουργὴς δὲ ἐσθής, τῆς ἁλουργοῦς, τῇ ἁλουργεῖ. ἐσθῆτα ἁλουργῆ.
