Certain documents written by those involved in the lawsuit, both the plaintiff and the defendant, which they then submit to the authorities. It is so called[1] since each of the two of them swore an oath, the one to prosecute truthfully, the other to defend himself truthfully.

Ἀντωμοσία: γράμματά τινα γραψάντων, περὶ ὧν ἡ δίκη, ὅ τε κατηγορούμενος καὶ ὁ κατηγορῶν, ἀποφέρουσι πρὸς τὴν ἀρχήν. καλεῖται δὲ οὕτως, ἐπειδὴ ἑκάτερος αὐτῶν ἀντώμνυεν, ὁ μὲν τἀληθῆ κατηγορήσειν, ὁ δὲ τἀληθῆ ἀπολογήσασθαι.
