If it is ἀπολέψεις with the epsilon, that is ἀπολεπίσεις ["you will peel"]. Having peeled the shell. Having peeled [her] just like an egg.[1] But if [it is] ἀπολάψεις ["you will lap up"], [it means] you may quaff. From the metaphor of dogs, and any other creatures which drink by lapping. It later comes [to mean] you will enjoy, you will snatch eagerly, you will drag away. Homer [writes]: "to lap up with tongues".[2] And Aristophanes in Clouds [writes]: "knowing you will lap him up as quickly as you can".[3]

Ἀπολάψεις: ἐὰν διὰ τοῦ ε ἀπολέψεις, τουτέστιν ἀπολεπίσεις. ἀπολέψαντα τὸ λέμμα. ἀπολεπίσαντα ὥσπερ ὠοῦ. ἐὰν δὲ ἀπολάψεις, ἐκπίῃς. ἀπὸ τῶν κυνῶν ἡ μεταφορὰ, καὶ ὅσα λάπτοντα πίνει. καὶ καταστρέφει δὲ εἰς τὸ ἀποκερδανεῖς, ἀφαρπάσεις, ἀποσπάσεις. Ὅμηρος: λάψοντες γλώσσῃσι. καὶ Ἀριστοφάνης Νεφέλαις: γνοὺς ἀπολάψεις ὅτι πλεῖστον δύνασαι ταχέως.
