[1] For the 'near' part of this suggestion derivation, cf. alpha 391, alpha 394. LSJ s.v., however, derive it from aurion, "morning". The adjective ἄγχαυρος occurs (of "night") in Apollonius Rhodius, Argonautica 4.111.
