Ἀφιλότιμος: ταπεινός. παρὰ τὸ μὴ φιλεῖν τιμὴν, ἢ ἡττᾶσθαι δόξης. ἢ ὁ πρὸς μηδὲν ἀξιόλογον ἐπεστραμμένος. καὶ ὁ φειδωλὸς παρ' ἐνίοις. οὐδεὶς ἦν ἀφιλότιμος οὕτως, ὡς Μωϋσῆν θεασάμενος μὴ ἐκπλαγείη τῆς εὐμορφίας.
