Headword: Ἀειγλήνῃσιν
Adler number: alpha,609
Translated headword: aeiglenesin
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[no gloss]
Greek Original:
Ἀειγλήνῃσιν.
Notes:
A dative plural. Ps.-Zonaras has it in the form ἀειγλινηίσι , with the gloss ταῖς διηνέκεσι ρυπαρίαις "with continual filthinesses."
The word is not otherwise attested and its etymology is unclear. The first element is apparently ἀει "always" (alpha 606, alpha 607). For the second, cf. perhaps γλήνη or γλίνη = γλοιός "dirt scraped off the skin" (gamma 306).
