Διήνεγκαν: γενικῇ. ὑπέμειναν, ἐκαρτέρησαν. Προκόπιος: Ῥωμαίων δὲ ἱππεῖς ἦσαν ἄρχοντες ἱππέων, οἳ τὰ πρότερα τὴν ἐς Δάρας μάχην διήνεγκαν. τουτέστιν ὑπερήνεγκαν, ἢ διεπράξαντο. καὶ αὖθις: ἐπ' ἐννέα διήνεγκε τὴν πολιορκίαν ἔτη.
