[1] Present participle, feminine nominative singular, of the verb ἐγκονέω (from the quotation which follows); see further, next note.
[2] A pentameter line from Anth.Pal. 6.268.4; the unnamed subject is Artemis. Here the normally intransitive verb ἐγκονέω is unusually construed with an object in the dative. LSJ (web address 1) cites this line as the only example of this construction. The same line is cited at mu 327.
