Ἔγκυκλον: ἱμάτιον. Ἀριστοφάνης: ἐγώ γ' ἂν κἂν εἴ με χρεῖ' ᾖ τοὔγκυκλον τουτὶ καταθεῖσαν. καὶ ἀλλαχοῦ: φέρ' ἔγκυκλον τουτὶ λάμβαν' ἀπὸ τῆς κλινίδος. καὶ δῆλον, ὡς τὸ μὲν ἔγκυκλόν ἐστιν ἱμάτιον, ὁ δὲ κροκωτὸς ἔνδυμα.
