Ἐγνωμάτευεν: ὁ δὲ τῶν βαρβάρων ἡγούμενος ἐγνωμάτευε ξὺν τῷ ἀδελφῷ καὶ ἔλεξεν, ὡς ἐγὼ μὲν ἐνέδραν ποιήσομαι, σὺ δὲ χρῶ ἀκροβολισμοῖς καὶ τοξεύμασιν. ἀντὶ τοῦ βουλὰς ἐδίδου καὶ γνώμας. καὶ αὖθις: ὁ δὲ ἐγνωμάτευε πάντῃ ἀξύμφορον εἶναι Πέρσαις φιλίαν θέσθαι ὡς πρὸς Τούρκους.
