Translation:
[He/she/it] received as a guest.[1] Also instead of [he/she/it] killed. Elektra says: "Ares," she says, "did not entertain him."[2] That is, did not kill [him]; for the 'entertainment of Ares' [is] wounds and massacres. And Archilochos [writes]: "bestowing grievous entertainments on enemies."[3] These are things that the sister of Orestes dirges.[4]

Ἐξένισεν: ἐξενοδόχησε. καὶ ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀπέκτεινεν. Ἠλέκτρα φησίν: ὁ δὲ Ἄρης, φησίν, οὐκ ἐξένισεν αὐτόν. τουτέστιν οὐκ ἀπέκτεινε: ξενία γὰρ Ἄρεως τραύματα καὶ φόνοι. καὶ Ἀρχίλοχος: ξείνια δυσμενέεσι λυγρὰ χαριζόμενος. ταῦτα θρηνεῖ ἀδελφὴ τοῦ Ὀρέστου.
