Procopius [writes]: "[Antonina] became Belisarius' fiancee after she had already become mother of many children. So at once she thought fit to be an adultress in succession [sc. to her other roles]."[2]
Ἐγγυήσασθαι: αἰτιατικῇ. μνηστεύσασθαι. καὶ Ἐγγυητὴ γυνή, ἡ μεμνηστευμένη. Προκόπιος: ἡ δὲ ἐγγυητὴ ὕστερον Βελισαρίῳ γυνὴ γέγονεν ἤδη παίδων μήτηρ γενομένη πολλῶν. εὐθὺς οὖν ἠξίου μοιχεύτρια τὸ ἑξῆς εἶναι.
