Ἐξίδισεν: ἀπεπάτησεν. Ἀριστοφάνης: εἴτε Πατροκλείδης τις ὑμῶν χεζητιῶν οὐκ ἂν ἐξίδισεν εἰς θοιμάτιον, ἀλλ' ἔπτατο.

[1] Aristophanes, Birds 790-1 (Web address 1), imperfectly quoted. Dunbar (below) p.482 suggests that "on some public occasion [Patrokleides] had had an embarrassing attack of diarrhoea, which he was not allowed to forget." On the language here see Henderson (below) pp.187-92.
