Translation:
The binding on a wound. Aristophanes [writes]: "listen, don't run away. In Sybaris[1] once a woman broke a jar.[2] [...] So the jar had a witness and called him. Then the Sybarite woman said, 'By the Maiden,[3] if you let this testimony go and quickly buy a bandage you will have better sense.'"

Ἐπίδεσμος: ὁ ἐπὶ τῇ πληγῇ δεσμός. Ἀριστοφάνης: ἄκουε, μὴ φεῦγ'. ἐν Συβάρει γυνή ποτε κατέαξ' ἐχῖνον. οὐχῖνος οὖν ἔχων τίν' ἐπεμαρτύρατο. εἶθ' ἡ Συβαρῖτις εἶπεν, εἰ ναὶ τὴν Κόραν, τὴν μαρτυρίαν ταύτην ἐάσας ἐν τάχει ἐπίδεσμον ἐπρίω, νοῦν ἂν ἔχῃς πλείονα.
