The headword verb
ἐκκακέω appears in NT manuscripts (of e.g. Luke 18.1) as a variant reading for
ἐγκακέω .
[1] This gloss does not seem to relate to the headword. Dindorf suggested emending to
ἀποκακῶ , "I sink under a weight of misery." Bernhardy, comparing
epsilon 1602, proposed
ἀπαγορεύω, ἀποκακῶ .
[2] Here Alberti proposed adding
καὶ μὴ ἐκκακῶ "...and not lose heart." (But the quotation, if such it is, is unidentifiable.)
