Greek Original:Ἔκδεια: ἡ κεχρεωστημένη λοιπάς. ἔκδεια γάρ ἐστι τὸ μέρος καταβαλεῖν ὧν ὀφείλει τις, εἰ καὶ μὴ πάντα: ἔνδεια δὲ τὸ μηδὲν ὅλως καταβαλεῖν. ἢ ἔκδεια μέν ἐστι τὸ ἔχοντα μὴ καταβαλεῖν, ἔνδεια δὲ τὸ μηδὲν ἔχειν: ὡς εἶναι τὸ μὲν ἑκούσιον, τὸ δὲ ἀκούσιον. Ἔκδεια μέν ἐστιν ἑκούσιος στέρησις χρημάτων, ἔνδεια δὲ ἀκούσιος.

The two words differentiated here are more alike in the Greek --
ἔκδεια and
ἔνδεια -- than they can readily be made to appear in translation.
