Ἐκδίκους: δικαίους καὶ ἔξω τοῦ δικαίου ὄντας. ὁ δὲ ἦν ἔκδικός τε καὶ ἔκνομος. ἀντὶ τοῦ ἄδικος. καὶ Σοφοκλῆς: Θῆβαι δ' οὐκ ἐπαίδευσαν κακόν. οὐ γὰρ φιλοῦσιν ἄνδρας ἐκδίκους τρέφειν. σὺ δ' ἀξίαν οὐκ οὖσαν αἰσχύνεις πόλιν τὴν αὐτὸς αὑτοῦ. καί σ' ὁ πληθύων χρόνος γέρονθ' ὁμοῦ τίθησι καὶ τοῦ νοῦ κενόν.
