Headword: Ἔγγεον
Adler number: epsilon,51
Translated headword: engeos
Vetting Status: low

Greek Original:
Ἔγγεον: τὸ ἀσφαλές.
Note:
This (neuter) headword seems to be a mismatch with its gloss. For the gloss see epsilon 168, glossing ἔγγυον (sic). The present headword is glossed by Hesychius as ἰοῦγον , i.e. Latin iugum, a land-measurement. It might be a variant spelling of ἔγγαιον , which itself has the variant ἔγγειον (epsilon 55), although this word does not seem to be attested for a measurement.
