An entry taken from Hesychius, Lexicon eta105. The Lexicon Ambrosianum (Ambrosianus B12 sup. fol. 77r and Laurentianus 59,16 fol. 187r) has: ἤδει: ἠπίστατο .

Ἤδεε is the epic/Ionic form for ᾔδει – pluperfect of the verb οἶδα ; it is frequently used in Homer and Herodotus, and in several imitators of the epic style. The rest of the occurrences are in Homeric quotations or commentaries.
