Forms of the headwords are found, for example, in
Herodotus in reference to the Massagetae (1.216.4; Web address 1) and the Libyans (4.186.1; Web address 2), and in
Euripides,
Electra 169 (Web address 3), of a Peloponnesian peasant; see LSJ entry at web address 1. This is the only attestation of the nominative singular form, apart, perhaps from
Lexicon Ambrosianum 7, which Adler cites as a comparandum.
