Notes:
The headword, dative singular of a putative adjective *
γαλλαῖος , is evidently drawn from the quotation that follows. The only other attestation of any form of the word comes in a poem of Gregory of Nazianzus (
PG 37.1572.3) in a probable imitation of the poem cited here (
Γαλλαίης Κυβέλης ὀλολύγματα ('howls of the Gallian Cybele')).
