Greek Original:Ἰάμβλιχος: οὗτος, ὥς φασιν, ἀπὸ δούλων ἦν. ἔγραψε δὲ τὰ καλούμενα Βαβυλωνιακά: ἔστι δὲ Ῥοδάνου καὶ Σινωνίδος ἔρως ἐν βιβλίοις λθ#. οὗτος λέγει περὶ Ζωβαρᾶ τοῦ εὐνούχου, τοῦ ἐραστοῦ τῆς Μεσοποταμίας τῆς εὐειδεστάτης.

[1] This novel survives only in the epitome of
Photius (Bibl. cod. 94) and a number of fragments scattered throughout the Suda.
[2] The surprisingly large number of books (39) must be a mistake.
Photius' epitome, which presumably was based on a complete text of the novel, indicates a more plausible number, 16 (Bibl. cod. 94 p. 78b.44).
