Greek Original:Ἱστίον: ἄρμενον. πλήρεσιν ἱστίοις ἐς τὴν αὐτοῦ σοφίαν καθῆκεν. ἀντὶ τοῦ παντὶ σθένει, πάσῃ δυνάμει, ὅλῃ ψυχῇ. καὶ παροιμία: Θύειν Ἱστίᾳ. εἴρηται ἡ παροιμία κατὰ τῶν μηδενὶ ῥᾳδίως μεταδιδόντων. δι' ἔθους γὰρ ἦν τοῖς παλαιοῖς, ὁπότε ἔθυον Ἱστίᾳ, μηδενὶ μεταδιδόναι τῆς θυσίας.
