Κακύνειν τὸν πηλόν: τουτέστι τὸν ἄξιον ὕβρεως ὑβρίζειν.
Notes:
For "outrage" (hybris) see generally upsilon 11-21.
The noun πηλός can also mean mud (see LSJ s.v.), and with such a meaning here the phrase would still work; however, construing it as "dregs" or "lees" seems required by kappa 335 and pi 178.
