Translation:
Something that sweeps, something that brings order. "Do not sweep Greece empty".[1] Rather than making [her] empty of inhabitants through wars."[2] There was also a certain curse used by the ancients like that, as Menander also says somewhere: "may you be swept away", intending the [meaning] be destroyed utterly.[3]

Κόρημα: τὸ σάρον, τὸ κόσμητρον. μὴ 'κκόρει τὴν Ἑλλάδα. ἀντὶ τοῦ ἔρημον οἰκητόρων ποιῶν διὰ τῶν πολέμων. ἦν δὲ καὶ ἀρά τις αὕτη τοῖς ἀρχαίοις, ὥς που καὶ Μένανδρός φησιν: ἐκκορηθείης σύ γε, βουλόμενος τὸ ἄρδην ἀπολέσθαι σημᾶναι.
