Greek Original:Κράτης, Ἀθηναῖος, κωμικός: οὗ ἦν ἀδελφὸς Ἐπίλυκος, ποιητὴς ἐπῶν. δράματα δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰσιν ζ#: Γείτονες, Ἥρωες, Θηρία, Λάμια, Πεδῆται, Σάμιοι. ἔγραψε δὲ καὶ καταλογάδην τινά.

Krates was a writer of the Old Comedy who flourished in the mid fifth century BCE.
[1] Not otherwise known. Perhaps a mistake for the comic poet of that name. See G. Kaibel 'Epilykos (3)' in
RE 6,1 cols.158-159.
[2] The titles of six plays only are given. The Greek signs for the numerals six and seven are easily confused by a copyist.
