Insatiable. For a ka/bos [is] a measure of grain[1] -- just as we call a drunkard a "wine jar."
The headword occurs in a fragment of Old Attic Comedy (
Cratinus fr.103 Kock), and ancient gramarians derived it from
kabos and
aisa, a portion of food.
