[1] Present active participle of κατατείνω , feminine accusative singular; presumably from the quotation which follows.
[2] Procopius, History of the Wars of Justinian 1.20.12. Justinian wants the Homeritae, a people of Arabia, to attack Persia; but they are reluctant. The passage quoted at sigma 337 comes shortly before this excerpt.
