Headword: Καθίζεσθε
Adler number: kappa,98
Translated headword: you are seated
Vetting Status: low
Translation:
You have planted firmly.
Greek Original:
Καθίζεσθε: καταπήξατε.
Notes:
Similarly glossed by Photius, Pseudo-Zonaras, and the Lexica Segueriana (except that Photius' gloss is the future καταπήξετε ); evidently quoted from somewhere. There seems to be a disconnect in tense and meaning between the headword and the gloss. Manuscripts GIVM of the Suda have the participle καταπήξαντες as the gloss, which fits even less well, but could indicate a problem in the transmission.
For the verb καθίζω , see also kappa 1232.
