Greek Anthology 7.47. The poet seems to use ἄφωνος , “having no voice,” virtually as a passive, as λαλητέος , the verbal formed from λαλέω clearly is. Λαλέω is used in later Greek not as “chatter,” “babble,” as in lambda 73, but simply as “speak” or “say.”
