[1] Aristophanes, Acharnians 158; again at alpha 3586 and pi 987. On the verb here, ἀποθριάζειν , implying a Priapic erection of a circumcized penis, see J.Henderson, The Maculate Muse (New Haven 1975) p.118; the scholiast here misunderstands it.
