[1] These two adjectives exist nowhere else in Greek literature in the forms transmitted here, which are the result of copyist's errors. The first should be not
ὀζωτά but
ὀξωτά , i.e. something made sour-tasting by vinegar. The second should be not
στιλφωτά but
σιλφιωτά , i.e. derived from silphion/silphium (
sigma 422,
sigma 423).
