Φλαῦρον, φλύαρον, ἀηδές, δύσφημον, λυπηρόν. παρὰ Ἀριστοφάνει. γέροντα δ' ὀρθοῦν φλαῦρον, ὃς νέος πέσῃ. τουτέστι τὸν ἅπαξ ἐν νεότητι πεσόντα ἐν γήρᾳ ὀρθοῦσθαι ἀδύνατον. εὐστόμει, καὶ μηδὲν εἴπῃς φλαῦρον ἄνδρας δεξιοὺς καὶ νοῦν ἔχοντας, ὧν ὑπὸ τῆς φειδωλίας ἀπεκείρατ' οὐδεὶς πώποτ', οὐδ' ἠλείψατο, οὐδ' εἰς βαλανεῖον ἦλθε λουσόμενος.
