A paltry or slight evil. For φλαῦρον and φαῦλον are different: a small evil is φλαῦρον , but a big one [is] φαῦλον .[1]
Φλαῦρον : nonsensical, distasteful, ill-omened,[2] grievous. In Aristophanes.
"It is bad for a an old man to stand upright, who falls as a young man." That is, it is impossible for a man who has once fallen in youth to be set upright in old age.[3]
"Speak auspiciously, and say nothing petty about upright and intelligent men, of whom because of frugality no one ever shaved himself or anointed himself or went to a bath-house to wash himself."[4]
