He became a general, and during his tenure[1] many of the tragedians did wrong and lost their civic rights.
Greek Original:Παλαίσμασιν: ἀντὶ τοῦ στρατηγήμασι. καὶ Ἀριστοφάνης: Φρυνίχου παλαίσμασι. στρατηγοῦντος γὰρ αὐτοῦ ἡττήθησαν Ἀθηναῖοι καὶ πολλοὶ αὐτῷ προσεκρούσθησαν, ὡς προδόντι τὸν πόλεμον. τινὲς δὲ τοῦτον κωμικὸν ποιητὴν λέγουσιν, ὃς κινουμένους τοὺς χοροὺς εἰσῆγε καὶ παλαίοντας. ἐγένετο δὲ στρατηγός, ἐφ' οὗ πολλοὶ ἥμαρτον τῶν τραγικῶν καὶ ἄτιμοι ἐγένοντο.
