A particular kind of flat-fish. Some [call it] ox-tongue.[1] To certain people it seems in form to be assembled from two skins; but it is divided at the middle, like wasps.
Or it is a bird cut down the middle, like wasps. Aristophanes [says]: "personally, I think I would cut off half of myself and give it, just as if it were a turbot." Meaning I would endure half of myself being cut off, I want.[2]
