Translation:
The Athenians had two swift warships in service, the Paralos and the Salaminia. Of these the Salaminia used to bring accused men to trial; she was sent to fetch Alkibiades, according to Thucydides.[1] The Paralos, by contrast, used to transport festival delegations, that is things being sent for sacrifice.

Σαλαμινία ναῦς: δύο ἦσαν νῆες παρὰ τοῖς Ἀθηναίοις ὑπηρέτιδες ταχυδρόμοι, ἡ Πάραλος καὶ ἡ Σαλαμινία: ὧν ἡ μὲν Σαλαμινία τοὺς ἐγκαλουμένους εἰς κρίσιν ἦγεν: ἣν καὶ ἐπὶ Ἀλκιβιάδου φησὶ πεμφθῆναι Θουκυδίδης. ἡ δὲ Πάραλος τὰς θεωρίας ἀπῆγε, τουτέστι τὰ εἰς θυσίαν πεμπόμενα.
