Adler number: tau,539
Translated headword: what foolishness: [to believe in Zeus] at your age
Vetting Status: high

Greek Original:
Τῆς μυρίας ὄντα τηλικουτονί: ἐπὶ τῶν παραλόγως τι λεγόντων, ἐνηλίκων ὄντων. οἷον τελείαν ἐχόντων τὴν ἡλικίαν καὶ πάντα εἰδέναι ὀφειλόντων.
Notes:
Aristophanes, Clouds 818-819 (with scholion) -- but here both abridged and with the opening noun corrupted from μωρίας to the nonsensical μυρίας . See web address 1.
Despite the form of the gloss, there is no sign that this phrase became proverbial.
