Translation:
A festival of Artemis and of Apollo. [There is] also a month [called] Thargelion.[1] And the pot full of seeds of the sacred mash; for they used to boil in it to the god the first-fruits of the crops which had appeared, named from heating [θέρειν ] the earth [γῆ ], which is the same as the sun. Choruses took place in it [the festival]. And [sc. there is a saying] "A Thargelia of good things."[2]

Θαργήλια: ἑορτὴ Ἀρτέμιδος καὶ Ἀπόλλωνος. καὶ μὴν Θαργηλιών. καὶ ὁ τῶν σπερμάτων μεστὸς χύτρος ἱεροῦ ἑψέματος. ἥψουν δ' ἐν αὐτῇ ἀπαρχὰς τῷ θεῷ τῶν πεφηνότων καρπῶν, ὀνομαζόμενον ἀπὸ τοῦ θέρειν τὴν γῆν, τὸν αὐτὸν ὄντα τῷ ἡλίῳ. ἵσταντο δὲ ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ χοροί. καὶ ἀγαθῶν Θαργήλια.
