Ὕδραν τέμνειν: ἐπὶ τῶν ἀμηχάνων λέγεται: ἱστορεῖται γὰρ ὕδρᾳ τῇ ἐν Λέρνῃ ἑκατοντακεφάλῳ τυγχανούσῃ μαχόμενον Ἡρακλέα, ὡς τῶν τεμνομένων αὐτῆς κεφαλῶν ἀνεφύοντο πλείους, κελεῦσαι Ἰολάῳ ἐπικαίειν τὰς τεμνομένας.
