Here are some pictures from the Ph.D. hooding ceremony.

This picture shows, from left, Prof. Stephen Scully, director of graduate studies in our department; me; and Prof. Jeff Henderson, director of my dissertation. The building whose windows and fire escapes are visible in the back is 264 Bay State Road, where my office was from 1979 to 1981; the mathematics department has long since moved from there, however.

Here I am near the memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King. The building behind me is the School of Theology building, which also houses the classics department.
